PROJECTS
Explore Heritage Malta’s wide-ranging project portfolio, which reflects our commitment to preserving the nation’s cultural legacy. These initiatives fall into three main categories: Capital Projects, focused on restoring iconic sites and creating engaging museum spaces; Research Projects, funded through European and grant schemes to drive innovation in preservation and accessibility; and Patronage & Institutional Projects, developed with partners to safeguard artefacts, document oral histories, and strengthen community connections. Together, these efforts celebrate Malta’s rich heritage while laying the foundation for a sustainable cultural future.
Capital Projects
State-funded, large-scale projects restoring key buildings and sites important for the nation’s collective memory and creating spaces which safeguard the islands’ heritage whilst integrating cutting-edge museology.
Research Projects
Projects supported by funds, grants, and subsidy programmes, aimed at keeping the agency on the frontline of knowledge so that it fulfils its mission of ensuring the long-term preservation of Malta’s rich heritage and accessibility to it.
Patronage & Institutional Projects
Projects fuelled by sponsorships, and collaborations with other institutions and entities relating to the heritage sector, which strengthen the country’s link to the past – be it through restoring valuable artefacts or saving precious oral history – enabling it to leap forward with more awareness of its origins.
